Work History

Asphalt Laborer - Concrete Casting Technician

Castech Inc.
05.2024 - 08.2024
  • Performed the removal of damaged asphalt by sawing it out and applying either hot patching or cold patching methods for repair
  • Casted concrete for truck and wheel stops, as well as for telephone poles, and performed concrete repairs on curbs. This involved mixing concrete with sand, rocks, water, and Portland cement, oiling the molds, and casting all components
  • Sealcoated asphalt to maximize the lifespan of both newly laid and existing asphalt surfaces
  • Worked closely with the Army Corps of Engineers at federal Army bases in the Southeast to enhance structural layouts, addressing issues such as sinkholes and removing concrete slabs

Field Officer

Allied Corrosion & Engineering
12.2022 - 07.2023
  • Install a deep well anode system at the Port of Pensacola. Once the anodes are in place, fluidize and pump calcined petroleum coke backfill (LORESCO Impressed Current Backfills) from the bottom of the hole to a level above the top anode. Allow the backfill to settle overnight, then inspect to ensure the top anode is fully covered.
  • Traveled along the pipeline beneath the port to inspect for corrosion and measure AC (alternating current) and DC (direct current) readings using a digital multimeter
  • Performed splices on anodes and cables both on land and at sea to prevent corrosion and ensure a low-resistance electrical connection, maintaining the efficiency of the cathodic protection system
  • Worked closely with underwater welders, providing precise measurements for attaching anodes to pipelines at 20-foot intervals, with the first anode positioned 200 feet from the pipeline to ensure electrical continuity. Also, retook current measurements to verify system effectiveness
