Providing service for transportation of containers onboard ships for specific routes and based on these managing Operations and Stowage Planning of the vessels as per Line Management requirements
Communicate with Ops Manager and Cargo Flow and partners to provide loading allocation and port calls/terminal information
Prepare stowage/ loading plan and discharge plans in accordance with allocation agreed and Line instructions
Elimination of avoidable costs such as for restows
Optimizations of vessel space for cargo loading is paramount important in consideration of safety & constraint of the vessels and restriction/limitation of ports of calls
Approve special cargo such as OOG, UDAB, Breakbulk, Reefers
Reserve appropriate space for special cargoes well in advance especially for special cargo such as for OOGs and Break Bulk
Liaise with port agents and terminals for crane deployment and productivity also all lifting is at the yard as pre-planned in stowage
Initiate/follow up to secure earliest berthing possible basis cargo readiness for yard closing time also taking into consideration berth window/tide/cargo connections/ draft restrictions and any constrain of the vessel to berth
Proactively take an effort to reduce berthing delay by proper communication with Port Agents / Terminal and Master of the vessel
Coordinate with local agents, terminal representative, and legal department in HO if any accidents/incidents including damages to vessel structure and Container & cargo damages, and report accordingly keeping all relevant parties including Ops Manager line management
Regular contacts & good communication with vessel command and key personnel at agency offices, ports, and terminals to gather relevant information to initiate/implement improvements that are needed for vessels schedule maintenance and other operational limitation
Coordination with Logistics departments to full fill vessels intakes when unable to full fill with ladens’ when there is insufficient cargo for loading
Ensure terminal operation to achieve minimum target in daily basis
Manage and take corrective action to resolve vessel operation issues during shift operations, coordinate with Shift Operation Manager and Operation Planning Manager
Resource Management
Plan and manage quey cranes, prime movers, stackers and manpower efficiently according to operation needs
Utilize the resources effectively to optimize performance
Reduce wastage
Wharf Coordinator, Stowage Clerk Management
Manage Wharf Coordinator, Stowage Clerk performance and accident rates in accordance to top, average and bottom performance and attend to all related issues on daily basis
Cost Management
Verify & review incentive for stowage clerks, work towards ensuring zero service failure and accidents on a daily basis
Lashing Gang & Quey Crane Guider (QCG) Management
Manage and take corrective action to resolve lashing issues during shift operations, coordinate with Shift Operation Manager and Operation Planning Manager on lashing performance on the availability of lashing manpower and efficient deployment of Quey Crane Guider (QCG) during shift operations on a daily basis
