Additional Information

I find it invaluable to push the boundaries of my comfort zone. I believe having interdisciplinary experience is important in becoming a more well-rounded scientist. I have worked in emergency management, been selected for a geology internship funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF), participated in all three missions of NASA’s Community College Aerospace Scholars (NCAS) program, and I am currently in the work-study program as a chemistry lab assistant. I pursued each one of these positions because they offered unique opportunities and perspectives. They have allowed me to refine leadership and teamwork skills, as well as participate in research and data collection both in and out of the field. Each experience came with its own set of challenges, such as working as a project manager as an introvert, but it has been rewarding to overcome these obstacles and grow as a person.
