Rachel Hollinger

Summary

I began working for the Kevin Balmer Dairy Farm in May of 2019 and I recently decided to assist with milking at another family farm in addition to my current job. Some of my daily tasks on the dairy farm include feeding calves, administering medications, assisting with all milking tasks, caring for freshening cows and heifers, making feed mixes and running equipment. From September 2022-May 2023 I worked for the Andy Ill Dairy Farm several afternoons a week. This past May I took on an "as-needed" job at Luther Acres, where I am currently working as a Resident Care Aide. In addition to dairy cows, I also have experience raising dairy beef steers and market lambs, which I show and sell at local fairs. My public relations experience spans from my three years as both an officer of the Manheim FFA chapter and the Lancaster County FFA as well as serving as the Lancaster County Dairy Princess from 2021-2022. This year I am continuing my agricultural advocation journey as the 2023 Pennsylvania Miss Agriculture USA. My teamwork skills stem from my time in the FFA and three years spent serving on the Manheim Community Farm Show Junior Board of Directors.
