Research Projects/ Experience

Microplastics in the Tittabawassee-Saginaw River: an analysis of freshwater river microplastic pollution based in varying landscapes

2025- Current 

This project aims to quantify and categorizes the amount and types of microplastics found as the Tittabawassee-Saginaw river as it flows through 3 cities and into Lake Huron (Saginaw Bay). This study will give deeper understanding to how microplastic abundance and type vary across different land uses.


Water of Leith Chemical Analysis

Feb 2024 -April 2024

This projected involved collecting field samples such as water, dissolved gas, and sediment . Chemical analysis instruments- ICP-MS, HPLC, GC, and XRF - were used to analyze the samples. The project defined the heavy metals and contaminates found in the river and gave guidance to a local conservation organization.
