- From 2006-2018, I worked in the PACU at the Eastside location
- My responsibilities included the immediate post operative period of patients that underwent general anesthesia and also procedures with minimal sedation
- I monitored vital signs and EKGs, managed postoperative pain and nausea, provided post operative instructions, and served as charge nurse periodically
- I also, during this time, assisted Anesthesiologists with moderate sedation procedures
- January 2018 I moved to Upstate Surgery Center within the Bon Secours network as a preop nurse
- My responsibilities include consenting for surgical procedures, obtaining baseline vital signs, starting a peripheral IV, and prepping the patient for surgery.
