As YMCA of Long Island's School Aged Childcare Group Leader, I supervise and protect our after-school program youngsters. My major job is raising and educating 5–12-year-olds. Each day, I plan and implement engaging arts, STEM, fitness, and nutrition programs for kids. I help kids with homework and organize difficult, exciting events that build character and community. I inform parents of their child's progress and strengths and weaknesses daily. The Office of Children and Family Services and YMCA require detailed attendance and incident records. I create an inclusive atmosphere for children with learning and behavioral difficulties as a role model.
As a Peer Advisor at LaGuardia Community College, I advised students on course selection, digital tools, and campus resources. I helped kids adjust to college and thrive academically by building close relationships. I also attended departmental events, worked on student engagement initiatives, and communicated with classmates and professors to create a helpful learning environment. My duties included advising, advocating for students, and connecting them to college resources.
