During a fundamental and seismic shift to a new Coast Guard financial system, you were instrumental in the submission of the unit's first purchase request. When processing this first request, you reported significant process issues with entry of data into the new system as well as recommended improvements to service-wide job aids. When you encountered an incomplete user guide for Military Standard Requisitioning and Issue Procedures system requisitions, you proactively drafted and submitted a new guide. The thoroughness of the guide was lauded by senior Coast Guard officials and posted for use by purchasing agents across the Coast Guard, improving service-wide entry of requisitions. During this turbulent time, you demonstrated expertise and superior dedication completing over 700 requisitions (purchase requests) with a value of $850,000. You accelerated procurement of vital supplies and services, balancing mission execution with financial stewardship. In addition to managing the difficult financial system transition, you volunteered as the unit lead for the government vehicle management system update. Your attention to detail resulted in proper rollout of the system update and ensured correct scheduling for 400 vehicle reservations to provide Sector personnel with mission critical access to government vehicles. in addition to your regular rated duties, you volunteered as a Military Funeral Honors member. in support of several funeral events at the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, families expressed deep gratitude for your professionalism while honoring their loved one's military service.
