I have experience with working on both medical and behavioral homes. I have gained knowledge and experience from my duties and responsibilities as a DSP I, II & III. As a DSP III, I train & ensure staff under my supervision implement and follow the job duties for the people that we serve to ensure safety. This includes following/implementing PBSPs, CIPs, Diet plans/mealtime procedures, PMNP, SAP Skills, Sensory Diets, Daily schedules, medical appointments, active treatment, community outings & programming implemented by the IDT. As needed, I’m familiar with counseling staff and following the Positive performance program. I’m current in CBT such as annual refreshers, SUR, UKERU, first aid, fire drills, ANE, CPR, Lifting & I learn classes. I was appointed the designee for the NSS in Unit III for 5 months, I have knowledge with entering time into the Capps system, DayTrack & ensuring that DSPs complete and understand the importance of documentation/procedures (paper: injury report, seizure report, falls, & com log. kiosk: Ob-notes, PNMP, behavior, diet, saps, sleep log, BM & hygiene). I’m familiar with DOJ and ICF standards, POC & reporting and looking for unusual incidents, and immediate danger. I work well as a team member but also able to complete tasks on my own on promptly. I see myself as a role model who leads by setting a good example.

As a DSP I & II, I works as part of a team that helps people with intellectual disabilities achieve their goals. This includes routine and emergency care, treatment, and training for people with intellectual disabilities in various settings. Responsibilities can vary, and may include such duties as grooming, bathing, feeding, observing and reporting individual’s conditions and behaviors, providing meaningful interactions with individuals, and participating in individualized training and/or active treatment programs for both males and females. I document information on the person’s life, such as things that occur throughout their daily schedule, how they respond to activities on the home, training, and unusual incidents. Completion of work requires use of simple and/or routine duties.
