  • Review disability application forms to ensure completeness. Review applicants’ allegations and sources of evidence to determine the most effective way to secure relevant, appropriate evidence necessary for case processing. Initiate appropriate contacts with sources (via letter, telephone, photocopy service ,etc.) to obtain that evidence. Receives incoming evidence, approves for payments, and determine next appropriate action. Identify cases that are ready for processing sand direct them to analyst. Schedule consultative examinations based on specialty and location. Follow up on appointments and reports to assure that the requested exam and tests were performed. Review disability decision forms for accuracy and completeness and for proper placement of documents and for technical accuracy. Independently correct identified errors or return cases to analyst for correction. Follow up on requested medical evidence. Respond to requests from the public for information. This includes researching case records via computer and providing applicants and/or their representatives with information about the processing of their case. Input and maintain applicant information on a computerized system. Apply program knowledge in areas of jurisdiction, level of claim, and prior application status. Daily contact with members of the team and other branch employees. Routine contact with applicants, Social Security Administration District Office and/or County Welfare Dept personnel and the public.
