Founded the local Certified Public Accounting firm after the closure of Arthur Andersen LLP. The following is short summary skills obtained:

• Oversaw operations and provided corrective actions to achieve daily and long-term goals.
• Developed comprehensive business plans, outlining long-term goals and actionable steps toward success.

Promoted to Audit Partner (i.e., firm ownership member) in 1998. With that promotion, I became the first African American partner in Detroit. Personal skills that led to my success at Andersen included:

• Ability to assess financial, accounting and operational controllership for both risks and opportunities for our client base.
• Significant experience with State and Local government accounting, treasury and financial reporting, including serving the City of Detroit and Detroit Public Schools.

Began this position in Dearborn MI, as a finance associate with Ford Motor Credit Company's Diversified Financial Operations. Responsibilities included analyzing financial statements for potential Preferred Stock investments in Utilities, by Ford Motor. Quickly rose within Ford Credit, leading ultimately promoted to a Senior Finance Executive. Expanding responsibilities to structuring leverage lease transactions and obtain my Series 7 license. Left this position in 1992, to return to Arthur Andersen LLP.
