Experience/Skills gained as a student during the clinical year:
Elicit a patient-centered problem-focused history and physical exam, order the appropriate labs/diagnostic tests, formulate a differential diagnosis and develop a management plan including patient education for adult and pediatric patients. Interprofessional collaboration among other healthcare professionals, perioperative patient management, wound management, perinatal care, and inpatient and outpatient experience. Proficient at interpretations of EKG, CT scans, X-ray scans and ultrasounds, including performance of pelvic examinations, PAP smear preparations, male and female STD testing/screening, skilled at administration of vaccines, venipuncture, splinting, laceration repair, foreign body removal in the nose, nasopharyngeal and oropharyngeal swabs, abscess incision and drainage, first and second assisted during general surgery.
