  • As a service mechanic for Danco LLC, Les Schwab tires Inc, and Public works department for the County of Humboldt I have gained fast knowledge on automotive mechanics. Working at Humboldt county motor pool where I assist with the vehicle services and intermediate repairs of over 500 vehicles and automotive equipment. In addition to conducting routine service work on vehicles to maintain their normal operation, I also conduct more complex and detailed repairs on county vehicles with little supervision.

  • When working at Scotia's Sawmill I was a Bobcat operator that assisted in the cleanup and safe operation of lumber being loaded into the Scotia Sawmill. While operating my equipment I oversaw the maintenance and clearing of five conveyors’ systems and clearing debris for the safe passage of small lumber into the mill. I had logged over 400 hours of Bobcat and Skid-steer operation as a Skilled Utility operator. In this position I had minimal supervision and was able to foresee potential issues loading lumber into the mill, making me a great asset to the night shift crew for the Scotia sawmill.

  • I became the lead supervisor of the Combat Gunnery division almost immediately after reporting to guided missile destroyer USS Bulkeley DDG 84. This division is directly responsible for all weapon systems onboard the ship. The weapon systems are as follows:

  • Two Mk 38 25mm chain guns
  • Two Mk 15 20mm anti-missile Phalanx CIWS systems
  • Two Mk 32 surface vessel torpedo weapon systems (SVTT)

  • 8 magazine stowage areas
  • Multiple fire control systems that support firing and targeting for these onboard weapons.
  • Over two years, I led over 20 sailors in the Weapons department in addition to leading the ships Quality assurance for ammunition handling and safety programs onboard. As one of three board chairmen for this program, I directly advised the commanding officer of the ship on the safe handling of hazardous material and Class 1 explosives as an ordnance board chairman/ quality assurance and fleet sentencing manager. I was responsible for training and leading over 60 personnel in the training, maintenance, testing, and handling of all ammunition material/safety handling equipment onboard USS Bulkeley. Towards the end of my service onboard I held the position of the ship's Force Protection LPO. This position required me to give direct guidance to the commanding officer, multiple department head officers, and force protection leaders. Based upon my vast experience of 16 years of service, and combat safety expertise.

  • As a student at MK 45 Mod 4 Light Weight Gun System course, I ranked 3rd in my class of 12 personnel. I also participated in and completed the Crew Served Operation and Maintenance course. The content covered operation and maintenance of the Mk-48 7.62mm machine gun, HK M240 7.62mm machine gun, and the M2 .50 Cal machine gun.

  • During my time with Naval Special Warfare Group Two (NSWG-2) I attended multiple Armorer training courses to support my Weapons Technician role for US Navy SEAL's and their operational needs on a global level. I became the leading petty officer responsible for the Weapons department which had over 40 personnel and was responsible for over 20 million dollars of small arms weapons and ammunition. After that assignment I was temporarily assigned to SEAL Team 8 as a support unit surrounding and during a deployment for two years. I maintained weapons and ammunition in a combat ready state during my time with the team. I attended several combat training courses and was the lead Weapons and Ammunition tech for SEAL Team 8 for one year, to also include Naval Special Warfare Armorer Course, Special Warfare Sniper Technician, and Foreign Weapons Technician (FTS).
  • I was one of 4 Ammunition forklift drivers for a period of 18 months operating over 3200 hours of forklift experience and trained 2 other personnel as ordnance forklift drivers. This position also included safety checking the forklifts and scheduling the maintenance of the equipment.
  • When I was assigned to NSW East coast Ordnance division for 2 years, I was specifically trained in handling, inventory, and vehicle transportation of hazardous materials. I received training which allowed me to certify and drive ammunition and all other hazardous classes except for Class 7 material over public highway. This training included transporting hazardous materials over Rail, Sea, and Air.

  • I gained the skills, experience, and expertise through various naval courses to become an instructor at the US Navy’s Recruit Training Center (RTC). I was responsible for ensuring new members of the United States Navy received the proper training to safely handle firearms. I had been nominated for several Instructor awards, earned Firearm Range qualifications, and was directly responsible for the firearm education of over 100,000 recruit sailors in a three-year span. Because of my experience onboard the USS Wasp I was responsible for the RTC armory as the direct operational supervisor. My responsibilities included the maintenance of over 280 pistols, rifles, and shotguns for recruit training at RTC.

I maintained four armories containing over 140 small arm weapons, 60 night vision devices, 20 crew served weapons (.30 Cal- 25mm caliber) and managed 12 magazine spaces rated to hold over 100 tons of ammunition and explosives. During this time, I learned managerial skills and led over ten other sailors through 3 deployments, 5 major inspections on all arms and ammunition. While on USS Wasp I had been part of multiple training teams to include Combat training and Force protection training teams to increase combat readiness. I gained mechanical weapon experience, warfare leadership, operational management, and Naval Fire fighter experienced.
