
I was born and raised in Kenesaw. After college, I worked for the Lincoln, NE Police Department. I got hired on with the Department of Homeland Security, where I worked for over 20 years, moving up through the Chain of Command, eventually retiring from federal service.
Now, in retirement, I enjoy working on household projects, to include DIY projects, decorating, and I really enjoy working in my backyard and greenhouse!
As a supervisory, law-enforcement officer in Grand Island, Nebraska, a supervised federal officers, in which our office covered 33 counties here in Nebraska and just our area.
As a supervisor, I was responsible for reviewing all paperwork and files to ensure compliance with federal policy and law. I insured compliance to policy in regards to detainee care. I managed the needs in regards to any office supplies and any related sort of budget. I liasoned with other federal state and local agencies. I fielded complaints from any arrested individuals as well as their attorneys and family members. I developed training protocols to ensure that all officers were up-to-date on the latest information that routinely changed due to a change in administration, law, and/or policy.
As an officer, I routinely enforced Federal laws to ensure compliance and public safety most often during stressful situation's. I needed to be adept in making split-second decisions that were in compliance with both policy and law. I conducted a thorough investigation of criminal activities, and potential threats.
in August 2025, I retired from federal service. (As a law enforcement officer, I was eligible to retire at 50 years old as long as I had 20 years in.)
As a supervisor and a law enforcement officer, my skills include remaining calm in the face of adversity, conflict deescalation, making split second decisions, and multitasking I also have a basic knowledge of the Spanish language
