
Caring, driven Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner, who has always been passionate about law and justice, and has experience working in a law firm. Growing up every member of my immediate family practiced law. My father is now a retired attorney, my mother retired as a paralegal, and my older sister is a practicing attorney. As a Nurse Practitioner, I am looking for an opportunity to advocate for patients and families by becoming a legal nurse consultant.
· Conduct in home comprehensive health assessments for Medicare and Medicaid members
· Obtain thorough medical history of every system of the body, mental health, nutrition status, fall risk, social economic background, hospitalizations, and surgeries
· Conduct detailed physical exam
· Educate members and answer questions about acute and chronic illnesses, medications, and lifestyle changes
· Collaborate with primary care providers and specialists about abnormal or new findings
· Diagnose acute and chronic illnesses
· Assess members for urgent or emergent findings and escalate to appropriate care when necessary
· Responsible for accurate and timely documentation of 6-7 assessments per day
· Care for up to 25 patients per shift while maintaining excellent care standards
· Accurately gather information in systematic manner to determine health related needs, identify comorbidities, understand and incorporate pathophysiology to implement treatments
· Collaborate with physical therapists to assist patients in rehabilitation
· Educate and teach procedures to patients/families on health care needs and conditions
· Successfully worked in Charge Nurse role to manage patient and nurse assignments, prioritize patient needs and aide other nurses in clinical tasks
· Interacted with interdisciplinary departments to implement care
· Developed rapport with patients, families, staff, and physicians
· Monitored and interpreted cardiac rhythms and arrhythmias to implement appropriate medical interventions
· Proper administration of cardiac drips such as cardizem, amiodarone, and nitroglycerin while constantly monitoring for patient safety and stability
· Assistance with safe surgical recovery to prevent infection
