Work History

Waitress

Red Lobster
02.2017 - Current

Being in the restaurant industry for over 10 years has gave me the opportunity to learn a lot, not only about serving, but other jobs in the restaurant.

  • working in customer service is all I've ever known. When taking a table my main goal is to make sure they leave happy, wanting to come back.
  • daily I am cashing out customers, dealing with cash and credit cards.
  • Despite our efforts, sometimes we have to deal with difficult customers. It is important to keep your composure and listen to their complaints doing what your able to do to make sure they leave happy.
  • Multitasking is something you have to master to become a professional server. Which is something I do at work and at home.
  • Being is this industry means your part of a team. Helping and supporting your team members is important in maintaining a more calm work environment.
  • Cleaning and keeping the restaurant stocked is something everyone should be accountable for. It will help unnecessary trips to the cooler or kitchen not interrupt your flow of service.

Waitress/trainer

Hooters
01.2014 - 02.2017

Hooters was my first job and it taught me what I know today and also helped me with confidence when talking to customers.

  • While I worked here I was trained to become a bartender and also got certified as a trainer.
  • I got opportunities to also do promoting; which included going on the radio, partaking in food competitions and even traveling locally to be in parades.
  • Being a trainer I would help the new employees learn the menu and the computers.
  • Customer interaction was very important. We would have chalk, hula hoops, and other little games to play with the kids while the parents finished their meals.
