Work History

Clinical Nurse Coordinator

Ogden Regional Medical Center
01.2025
  • As a Clinical Nurse Coordinator for the operating room I perform my regular duties as a charge nurse and in addition I have been trusted with more responsibility including employee payroll, patient and staff rounding, awarding recognition points, and participating in interviews of potential new employees. I also make the nurse schedule and handle coordination of interdisciplinary team efforts to increase patient satisfaction as a member of the patient satisfaction committee. I have excelled at maintaining an orderly and steadfast demeanor under stressful conditions and continue to engage myself in efforts to grow my skills and become a stronger leader and advocate for my patients and staff members.

GYN Coordinator

Operating Room Gynecology Line
08.2024 - Current
  • As the GYN coordinator I work closely with the surgeons in my specialty to ensure that we have the latest cutting-edge equipment and technology that they need to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients. I have been at the forefront of acquiring new items, finding acceptable solutions to back ordered items and educating staff on changes in surgeon preferences and needs. I continue to keep lines of communication open and maintain good relationships with the surgeons in my specialty.

Circulator and Charge Nurse

Ogden Regional Medical Center
06.2019 - 01.2025
  • As a circulating nurse my work ethic and commitment to patient safety led to my recognition as a leader in patient advocacy and teamwork.
  • I was offered a charge nurse position where I have successfully taken on the challenge of leadership and helped create a culture of accountability and patient safety.
  • As a member of the nurse practice council, SICC committee, and The Patient Satisfaction Committee, I was an active team member in the creation of practice changes concerning patient safety and satisfaction. Tackling issues such as ensuring patients are placed on the correct stretcher, patient safety alert arm bands and communication issues between departments. These are some of the practices that we have improved through the coordinated efforts of the SICC committee and the departments of Surgical Services.
  • As a charge nurse I often bring practice changes to the attention of the operating room staff and follow up on whether SICC committee practice changes are successful and/or if adjustments need to be made. I have shown during my time as a charge nurse that I am fully committed to ensuring the success of my peers and most importantly ensuring the safety of our patients.

LPN/RN

George E Wahlen Veterans Home
08.2018 - 06.2019
  • Caring for residents in a challenging ever-changing environment formed the basis for my nursing career. By forming fundamentals of teamwork, safe patient care, and patient satisfaction that I continue to carry with me as my career develops.
  • My ability to listen and communicate with patients with empathy and true concern were my most important developments as a new nurse which led to being recognized many times by residents, family members and peers, as a nurse who truly cared and was driven to action by a desire to better the lives of the residents that I cared for, and that of their family members.
  • I was recognized by my leaders as a dependable nurse who would go the extra mile as team member to help in times of need by helping other nurses with anything from passing medication, answering call lights, and drawing labs, to helping cover shifts and training new team members.
  • I continue to incorporate the fundamentals of empathy, listening and team spirit in my current position by making myself available to help in whatever capacity needed to ensure that our patients receive the care that they deserve.

CNA

George E Wahlen Veterans Home
09.2016 - 10.2017
  • Working closely with nurses and other CNAs, as part of a team, in an intense environment that held the challenge of taking care of many residents’ needs in a timely manner.
  • This helped me to develop time management and communication skills that have become crucial to my practice. Through the experience of alerting the nurse to changes in resident condition, as well as their personal and medical needs, taught me that clear concise communication is the most important function of a medical professional.
  • Being able to communicate with my peers is a very important skill that I use in my current position to help create a successful team environment on a daily basis.
