  • CBRNE Industry Group, Board of Directors; July 2010 – present. The Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and (CBRNE) Industry Group is a non-profit association composed of 130 companies, not-for-profit organizations, and consultants who support national and international chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and explosive (CBRNe) defense activities. In addition to military defense against CBRNe weapons of mass destruction (WMD), the NBC Industry Group interests encompass domestic preparedness against WMDs, the Chemical Weapons Convention and other treaties. Member organizations also are actively involved in CBRNe programs that include destruction of WMDs around the world. Currently sitting as Chair Emeritus; served as Chairman from 2014-2015.
  • American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) E54 – Technical Subcommittee for CBRNE Sensors; June 2014-Present. The Technical Subcommittee addresses issues related to standards and guidance materials for homeland security applications with specific focus on infrastructure protection, decontamination, security controls, threat and vulnerability assessment, and CBRNE sensors and detectors. It also is charged with the coordination of existing standardization related to National Security needs. Selected as the technical lead to rewrite standards E2885 Handheld Point Chemical Vapor Detectors (HPCVD) for Homeland Security Applications and E2933 Stationary Point Chemical Vapor Detectors (SPCVD) for Homeland Security Applications.
