I’ve always been someone who finds joy in connecting with people, whether it’s guiding a patient through an unfamiliar procedure, listening to someone share their story in a hospice setting, or working alongside a team to serve a community in need. In my current role as an Optometric Technician at Missouri Eye Consultants, I assist with everything from patient workups to diagnostic testing and scribing during exams, but what I enjoy most is creating an environment where patients feel genuinely seen, comfortable, and cared for throughout their visit. Outside of the clinic, I stay connected to my future goals by being involved in the Optometry Club at the University of Missouri, where I’ve had the chance to learn from professionals, connect with peers who share my interests, and stay engaged with what’s ahead. I also volunteer with Compassus Hospice, where I offer emotional support to patients and families, and recently led a service trip with Mizzou Alternative Breaks, which reminded me how much I value collaboration that is rooted in compassion and purpose. More than anything, I’m someone who loves to learn. Whether it’s through hands-on experiences, meaningful conversations, or quiet moments of reflection, I continually seek to grow both personally and professionally. If any of this resonates with you, I would truly enjoy the chance to connect.
