Summary

As a current freshman at West Virginia University, I am excited to pursue a career in Occupational Therapy. My coursework is giving me a solid foundation in human development, physical and mental well-being, and the holistic approaches needed to help people lead healthier lives. This has sparked a deep interest in finding ways to make a difference in people’s lives, particularly those who face physical or mental challenges.

I believe my background makes me well-equipped to work at a summer camp, especially one that serves children or individuals with special needs. The skills I’m developing in my classes, such as understanding the importance of adaptive techniques and creating supportive environments, are directly applicable to helping campers thrive. I’m passionate about fostering independence, promoting inclusion, and assisting individuals in overcoming obstacles.

Additionally, I bring strong communication, problem-solving, and empathy to the table—traits that are crucial in both occupational therapy and working at a summer camp. I’m eager to put these skills to use in a hands-on setting, and I know this experience will help me grow both personally and professionally, while allowing me to contribute positively to the camp environment.
