Functions in a management position 24 hours/ 7 days per week as a supervisor for staff and patient care as well as administrative support, physician support, and resource person for all staff. Backup to run Rapid Response calls and part of the Code Blue team. Coordinate the placement of all patients being admitted from the ER, OR, cath lab, and transfers within the house; responsible for HR issues; fit for duty; employee exposures; handling issues between staff; coordinating with other departments for floods or fires; escalate issues to AOC when appropriate. Created and maintained the Shift Administrator Orientation Checklist, and created the Shift Administrator Resource Binder.

Permanent charge on a 47-bed medical/surgical unit. Perform all aspects of patient care: IVs, NG tube placement, assessments, contacting physicians with issues, doing everything possible to prevent falls; resource for all nursing staff; ensure all policies are being followed. Utilized by Shift administrator and Rapid Response for difficult IV starts on other units.

Permanent charge on a 36-bed surgical unit. Perform all aspects of care for surgical/orthopedic patients, including chest tubes and epidural infusions. Assist with medical emergencies. Utilized by House Supervisor for IV starts throughout the hospital.

Charge nurse on 47-bed surgical/orthopedic unit. Perform all aspects of patient care; resource for staff. Respond to all emergencies.

House Supervisor for a 230-bed facility. Responded to all medical emergencies in the building, assisted with transferring to hospital when necessary. Support all staff and perform staffing for facility.

Perform all aspects of pt care for high acuity, short-stay population. Experience with Halos, appendicovesicostomies, complex sterile dressing changes, Wound VACs, performing trach care before disposable parts were available.
