This included but was not limited to press die changeovers, trouble shooting and repairing issues with dies or other equipment associated with the operation of the press, coil straightener, mandrel, press transfer system and quality checks of produced parts. Trained new operators.
• Loaded STEEL COILS onto coil cars and mandrels and fed to press for production and onto flatbed trucks or into trailers.
• Operated mobile crane and moved materials such as coils, large dies weighing up to 90,000 lbs to various locations to meet job schedule demands.
• Positioned cranes in response to hand signals and observed load hookup to determine safe load capacities.
• Performed daily safety checks to achieve safe operating condition of equipment.
• Carefully operated cranes while monitoring coworker, personal and overall workzone safety.

Duties included but not limited to daily operation of heavy stamping AIDA press.

- Loading of coil on press cart at mandrel

-Safely cutting banding on coil and feeding coil through coil straightner and through coil feeder, aligning steel to properly feed into press die.

-Manually making strokes of press until each operation in die is filled.

-Do quality check on part before switching press to auto run.

-Maintain smooth operation of press in a consistent manner.

-Move steel bins, label bins properly and check quality before releasing bin.

-Troubleshoot any issues before calling for tool and die or maintenance techs. Take care of issues if possible without calling techs using steel alignment skills and/or tools.

-Keep team leader aware of all downtime verbally and with production sheets or data entry.

- Keep work space clean and safe. Help other press operators when needed. Cross-trained on multiple presses.

-Hot Press/Oven Operator responsibilities including but not limited to operation of Hot Press producing brake pads for various types of vehicles. Loading 2 presses with brake plates and operating 2 stampers that stamp date code on finished brake pad.

-Load oven with brake pads after being formed at the press. Unload pads after curing.

-Clean dies periodically.

-Change out stampers when changeover occurs.

-Troubleshoot issues and adjust if possible before calling tool and die or maintenance techs.

-Weekly cleaning of press, removing all lubes, friction material and all other cleaning that is required.

-Responsibilities included but not limited to pulling sample brake pads, steel brake plates and friction for testing various times throughtout my shift.

-Tested samples using Rockwell hardness tester, micrometers, calipers.

-Alerted all parties involved when an issue was detected.

-Entered all findings.

• Disassembled various types of fire extinguishers and replaced o-rings , valves, pins, hoses, handles, anything that was broken. Refilled extinguishers with proper product such as CO2, powder, or water. Pressurized the extinguishers and tested for proper function.
• Checked, repaired and repacked survival equipment to meet specifications.
• Tested systems using testers, noting issues and completing preventive maintenance on systems.
• Operated manual, pneumatic and hydraulic shop tools to complete work.
