Under direction, the employee performs tasks of more than above average difficulty requiring the exercise of considerable independent judgment. Monitors and evaluates work practices for team productivity and resolves team conflicts.

An employee in this class is responsible for overseeing and participating, when necessary, in the work of a medium-sized to large crew performing moderately complex construction, maintenance, and repair tasks or other related municipal services. Under general supervision, the employee is required to exercise reasonable initiative and independent judgment in completing assignments, which are of more than average difficulty and are performed in accordance with established procedures. At times, employees might be required to work under hazardous conditions. Work is reviewed while in progress and upon completion through observation and results obtained.

An employee in this class is responsible for performing various manual and semi-skilled tasks of routine difficulty in construction, maintenance, repair, and/or other related municipal services, operating power tools and equipment and/or applying specific knowledge and skills related to area of assignment. Though under immediate supervision, employee receives instructions orally and in writing and must exercise some initiative and independent judgment in performing assigned tasks.
