I love what I do and I have proven to remain calm under pressure and skillfully handle difficult patients and high-stress situations. I have been an OK State employee for 27 + years and have been with OHCA in Population Care Management since 11/25/2002, 21 years. I have held 3 positions in Population Care Management, and they are Nurse Care Manager, Sr. Care Manager, and currently PCM Supervisor. In this position I supervise 6 Registered Nurses as they do their day-to-day work which includes High-Risk OB cases, Breast & Cervical Cancer cases, Administrative Referral cases, General Nurse Care Management cases, Out-of-State cases, Private Duty Nursing cases, and Legislative Inquiry cases. I am one of the supervisors that review out-of-state cases for approval or the need to be reviewed by one of our physicians in MPSU. At this time, I review cases for 6+ nurses. I am responsible for team member case audits for PMP purposes. I work with the Population Care Management Trainor, Seniors, and other Supervisors to help get our new and seasoned staff trained in policies and procedures. I work with my team members to work thru certain cases they may be having issues with and help them find resources or who in the agency they need to speak with. I am available to all of our staff if they need help with any aspect of their work, I will always make time. I am responsible for completing out-of-state claim reviews in iCE each day, which leads to cost savings r/t out-of-state claims. I am responsible for doing monthly Productivity for each team member and putting it on an excel form on TEAMS for Executive staff. I am responsible for timesheets for my team members. I was responsible for the Cares 4 Kids Program and Utilization Coordination Program until they were sunset. I was part of the RFP workgroup for the SoonerSelect program. I work in the EQ system for documentation. I work in iCE for claims, recipient info., provider info., and etc.

Helped members find specialty providers, helped arrange out-of-state services when needed, went on provider audit visits with Customer Service Reps. to help do the clinical piece, we found social resources for members, I helped create a Specialty Provider Database that we called each month to make sure they were still taking OK Medicaid members, I learned the MMIS/iCE system when it first came out, I learned the first Atlantes product when it came out, I worked with our SoonerRide Coordinator for members who needed that service and I worked with other member's of the agency as called upon to complete a task.

I was responsible for creating and implementing patient care plans, passing medications, doing patient assessments, charting on patients, assisting the nurse aides with bathing/ changing/ turning/transferring pts., orally and tube feeding pts., implementing Behavioral Plans, drawing blood on pts, assisting the Ped. Neurologist with the Baclofen Trials over an 8–10-hour period, and overseeing the entire evening shift staff consisting of, maybe, a LPN, Nurse aides, Recreational Therapist, Food Service workers, Janitorial staff and any parents that may be visiting their child. I would also accompany children on field trips when needed.

I had a set of patients, usually 6-8, I would change diapers or take them to the toilet every 2 hours or as needed, I would bathe them, I would feed the ones who were PO feeders and needed help to be fed and monitor the others, I would take the patients to the Nurses Station for the meds, or feedings, I would change their clothes for bedtime and get them all in bed, I would do bed checks to make sure they were still covered up and didn’t need to be changed, I charted any bowel movements or diaper changes, I would change linens, I would lift pts in and out of bed, w/c, bathtubs and on and off the toilets, I would answer call lights, I would report any abnormalities to the nurse, I would implement any Care Plans and any Behavioral Plans in place, I would check pts. out and then back in from visiting with the family over the weekend, I would go on field trips as needed with the pts., I would treat pts. for lice, body lice and crabs if needed, I gave report to the oncoming aide, I was subject to being hit, punched, kicked, head-butted, bit, etc., and I would take pts. to the ER if needed.

Q2, I pulled pts. up in the bed, I answered call lights, I delivered meal trays and picked them up, I fed pts., I assisted the nurses with any procedures, I assisted pts. to the restroom and to walk in the hallway, I emptied foley catheters, I emptied JP Drains, I assisted in the dying process with families, I assisted in the post mortem care, I charted on my members, I gave report to the oncoming aide, I floated to other floors as needed, I assisted doctors with procedures in the room if needed, I assisted the nurses with procedures in the room when needed and I would report any abnormalities to the nurse.
