Senior Program Analyst/Executive Assistant
USDA National Finance Center (NFC)
02.2012 - 07.2019
MISSION SUPPORT/ORGANIZATIONAL AWARENESS: I served the National Finance Center (NFC) in two capacities. My position was dual-hatted where I worked for both the New Orleans Federal Executive Board (FEB), directly reporting to the Director as the Executive Assistant and in support to the Administrative Management Support (AMS) Chief for fiscally sound, cost-effective program delivery.
In the absence of the FEB Director, I was the go-to person for all FEB related activities, events, and planning, and from FEB2012-DEC2013, served as assistant to the Continuity of Operations (COOP) Manager procuring Shreveport Alternate Work Site for NFC.
For the FEB, I strategically coordinated and managed the logistics of fifteen interagency planning events and six educational training programs, while simultaneously collecting, analyzing, and maintaining quantitative and qualitative metrics for after action reporting.
Provided back-up support to the Emergency Notification communication system and served as the2014-2018 Chair of Public Service Recognition Week (PSRW); dedicated to honoring and celebrating the dedication of Federal, State, and Local government employees.
I served three different Executive Directors consecutively from2012 through 2019 (Kathy Barre, Cheri Alsobrook, and Theresa Trentecoste).
COMMUNICATION: In partnership with the FBI and Southern University Law Center (Baton Rouge)2015 and2016, I assisted in strengthening relationships and increasing awareness of Federal career and employment opportunities for300 students through sponsorship of “Federal Government 101” Career Day. During this event, we helped 21 Federal agencies increase their outreach and recruitment efforts at Historically Black Colleges and Universities by conducting a job fair and Federal Government 101 information sessions.
COST CONTROL MEASURES: The FEB does not receive an annual budget to accomplish our objectives, so it must rely on joint leveraging of agency resources and develop creative solutions to satisfy common needs. As a result of my role in the negotiating process and collaborating with agencies, the total cost avoidance of shared training/conference room space, mediation assistance, and interagency no-cost or low-cost training for the services that we are able to track in2018 was $366,384.87.
This is a federal job.
Information Officer (1825) / LCDR (04)
United States Navy Reserve
04.1987 - 07.2017
CONTINUITY OF OPERATIONS (COOP)/MOBILIZATION MANAGER: I used the Navy Family Accountability and Assessment System (NFAAS) to determine the Command status and event impact to Navy families following a natural/man-made disaster or catastrophic local or regional event such as an earthquake, fire, flood, hurricane, etc.
Much like NFC’s Emergency Notification System, following a disaster, I assist the Command in deploying individuals/families, assessing property damage and determined how the event impacted Navy families
Through NFAAS, I collect personnel information, assisted in locating affordable domicile and office locations for personnel, and tracked the recovery process
NFAAS is an event-based system used to help determine how and where Navy service members and their families are located.
I accessed data through a user-friendly website designed to assist Navy family members (Active Duty, Reserves, Department of the Navy Civilians, NAF/NEX employees and their immediate family members) who are directly impacted.
Through NFAAS, I reported a member’s and their family current location, updated emergency personal contact information and requested assistance (especially if evacuation occurred far away from the home or place of work), informed the Navy know how the members are doing, coordinated needed clothing, food, housing, medical, pandemic, and other physiological needs through the Department of Defense (DoD) and other Federal agencies, and accurately accounted for all assigned personnel and their families to the Command.
In my mobilization (MOB) management capacity, I independently planned the arrivals and departures of members and units through various Navy processing centers located throughout the United States of America.
Activated over 10,000 Navy Reservists to Active Duty via orders in support of Operations Noble Eagle and Enduring Freedom Campaigns Post 911.
Recognizing the delays encountered in locating suitable, I trained members for hard to fill positions during this National Emergency.
Created a personnel prioritization process to pinpoint short-fused personnel needs which assisted the Navy in carrying out its deployment mission to combat National Terrorism.
