Independent Nutrition Research

Ever since I can remember, I've always been infatuated with nutrition and well being. I remember when I was 10 years old and should have been more worried about making it to baseball practice on time, I was instead more concerned with the ingredients of food labels, especially when I would see crazy food additives such as “polydimethylsiloxane”. I would be so intrigued about what's added to our food that it would lead me down a “rabbit hole” of research. I would read scientific journals, studies and every nutrition book I could get my hands on in order to answer the golden question, “what should I eat to be healthy?” I find nutritional science such a fascinating and under utilized area of medicine that I would someday like to integrate this concept into my care for patients.
