Dynamic and adept professional with a proven track record in medical records management and patient care, honed at Scribe America and Palms West Hospital. Excels in microbiology and fostering inclusive learning environments, demonstrating significant advancements in clinical research and patient interaction. Skilled in leveraging laboratory experience and anatomy knowledge to achieve exceptional outcomes in healthcare settings.
The job I enjoyed the most. Learning from experienced physicians who know how to save lives was the most exhilarating time of my life because I also learned a bit about anatomy and physiology and how to integrate the two without leaving out important details that were pertinent to patient history for any that may walk in a clinical setting. It was also amazing being able to see some of the cases, as well as trying to understand how I might solve a problem as a physician some day.
During my time at this facility I was being groomed into becoming a clinical coordinator, or at least that was the hope at that time. Shortly within my tenure l started to notice how I didn't really like ophthalmology too much. Solleft. l missed my job scribing in hospital settings being able to actively participate in patient charting. It was great for learning medicine, what little I could. If was able to do research I’d love to do that in something more hematologically based like immunology or tumors/cancers.
In my role in patient transportation within the radiology department, I assisted patients with transfers from beds, wheelchairs, and stretchers, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times. To ease their anxiety, I conversed with patients throughout transport, providing a reassuring presence. I efficiently and safely transported them to and from medical appointments and procedures, always vigilant for any signs of distress or equipment malfunction, which I promptly reported to the nursing staff. Unfortunately, I had to leave the position due to a shoulder injury, but the experience was invaluable in honing my patient care skills.
As an underserved minority and SI leader at my alma mater, I led supplementary instruction for PSB 3002 (Biological Bases of Behavior) and tutored CHM 2210 and CHM 2211 (Organic Chemistry I and II). My focus was on helping all students, especially those like me, understand challenging material and fostering an inclusive, collaborative environment. I also supported the professor in delivering course content, aiming to enhance access to quality education for everyone.
