Summary

Dynamic individual with in-depth EMS records experience regarding management of medical decision making by professionals as well as recording patient history of care. Endocrinology as well as the chemical processes responsible for endocrinology and how those processes effect our cells is a very keen interest of mine as well as mitral valve research. Dual-degree graduate, head strong and dedicated to the job with a positive up-beat attitude. Peaceful interaction with co-workers as well as consistency and respect in the most positive manner are my behavior hallmarks. Hopes to ultimately be knowledgeable enough concerning human anatomy as well as experienced enough in laboratory processes used to achieve exceptional outcomes in healthcare for something cool someday.

Work History

Scribe Ambassador

Scribe America
03.2020 - 01.2023
  • Description: The job I enjoyed the most. Lessons that could only be experienced sitting amongst physicians who know how to save lives. Despite taking this job for granted, it was probably the coolest time of my life. I learned extensively about anatomy and physiology, and how to integrate the two without leaving out important details that may have been pertinent to patient history for any that may walk into a clinical setting. The very breadth of cases never ceased to invoke passion in my own walk in healthcare, as well as trying to understand how I might solve a problem someday on my own as a physician.
  • Assisted with training new hires on scribe responsibilities and protocols.
  • Identified discrepancies among different types of medical records including lab results, radiology images and progress notes.
  • Adapted quickly to changing technology used in the healthcare industry.
  • Supported physicians by retrieving previous patient histories quickly upon request.
  • Performed quality assurance reviews for accuracy of documentation before submitting final drafts.

Tutor & SI Leader in the CLASS Office

FAU CLASS
01.2022 - 05.2023
  • As an underserved minority and SI leader at my alma mater, I led supplementary instruction for PSB 3002 (Biological Bases of Behavior) while tutoring CHM 2210 and CHM 2211 (Organic Chemistry I and II). The major common focus, to me, was on scaffolding techniques for building road maps conducive to learning. Also, vigorous attempts to understanding key subject matter when it gets to challenging material and fostering an inclusive, collaborative environment is always a key goal of mine.
  • Explained difficult concepts, terms and theories in easy-to-understand terminology.
  • Mentored and supported students to build their confidence and study skills.
  • Engaged actively with students to build confidence in subject matter and help improve study methods.
  • Demonstrated patience while I lead lessons in difficult concepts.

Clinical Research Coordinator

Specialty Retina Center Vitreoretinal Dis. & Surg.
12.2023 - 02.2024
  • Description: During my time at the facility I was being groomed into the clinical coordinator/imaging technician role. Shortly within my tenure, I started to realize that I wasn't ready to begin the journey at the time, so I left. I enjoyed ophthalmology in a scientific sense, but I missed my job scribing in hospital settings. It was great, considering the learned practices in the specialty of emergency medicine. Plus, what better way to learn charting than to read the notes and get honest feedback from your physician.
  • Performed quality assurance checks on data entered into electronic databases.
  • Discussed research study with potential research participants.
  • Reviewed participants' medical records to track and report adverse events and deviations.
  • Practiced OTC imaging on majority MAD patients
