As a Director of Rehabilitation Services for over six years at St. John Paul II responsible for the overall strategic direction, effective management, and operational oversight of all rehabilitation services within the facility. Monitors and ensures the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care, clinical excellence, and regulatory compliance while managing the department's financial and administrative functions, and foster a collaborative environment among a multidisciplinary team to meet the needs of patients and the organization. Directs and supervises all rehabilitation staff, including occupational therapists, physical therapists and speech-language pathologists. Recruit, hire, train, and conduct performance evaluations for department staff.
Foster a culture of teamwork, continuous improvement, and professional development. Serves as a liaison between the rehabilitation department, other clinical departments, and senior administration. Develops, implements, and evaluates rehabilitation programs and services to ensure they align with the organization's goals and patient needs. Maintains and enforces high standards of patient care and clinical practice, ensuring adherence to evidence-based methods. Monitors patient progress and outcomes, adjusting treatment plans and protocols as needed. Ensures all department activities and documentation comply with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as accreditation standards. Conducts regular audits of patient records and departmental operations. Develop and manage the departmental budget, monitoring financial performance and implementing strategies for operational efficiency. Assumes responsibility for facility reports on a weekly and monthly basis. Completes monthly reports and formally reviews them with the facility administration. Attends daily interdisciplinary team meetings and clinical meetings, utilization reviews, care plans and family meetings. Oversees scheduling, resource allocation, and billing processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness. Prepare and present reports on department performance, patient outcomes, and financial metrics to senior leadership. In addition to my role as the Director of Rehab, I am also a Physical Therapy clinician thus provides direct patient care. I am also a clinical instructor for Doctor of Physical Therapy students completing their clinical rotation at SJP II.
