  • The Executive Director is ultimately responsible effectively planning, coordinating, implementing and evaluating the operations of the organization in accordance with the mission, established policies, goals, and financial budget. This position communicates effectively and accurately in written and oral form to groups which include the Board of Directors, staff, business leaders, civic leaders, elected officials, and the general public.
  • Works closely with organizational leadership and board of directors to guide operational strategy.
  • Oversees financial management, ensuring fiscal responsibility and long-term sustainability for the organization, through major gift fundraising, planned giving and donor engagement and retention.
  • Work with board members, providing regular updates on organizational progress and soliciting their expertise when needed.

Accomplishments

Accomplished several successful Capital Building Campaigns, relocating the food bank in 1998 and again 2013 to its current location. Most recently in 2024 a new facility expansion to include a Community Kitchen with the capacity to serve over 800 meals daily to children in after school programs and volunteer Center to accommodate large groups of churches, schools, corporations and Operations, Food Sourcing and Programs office complex. Successfully raising funds to exceeding $7 Million revenue budget annually.


Served as Chair for the Feeding America Central Region (100 members) Association of Food Banks, Feeding America National Network of food banks.

(NAC) National Council, and subcommittee for the contract taskforce for the Feeding America Food Bank Network. Currently, she serves on the Feeding America National Council Food Sourcing Advisory Committee.

From 1998 to present, the Second Harvest Food Bank of Northeast Tennessee has continued to grow by starting new initiatives to close the gap on food insecurity such as; Food for Kids back pack kids program, Child Summer Feeding and CACFP afterschool meals program, Mobile Food Bank, Mobile Pantry, Mobile Senior Grocery and home delivery, Mobile Veterans Pantry and Mobile Produce Pantry programs. In 2021 during COVID relief, the food bank distributed approx. 16 million pounds of food to over 130 non-profit charities and 80 mobile sites that feed the hungry in the eight-county region of Northeast Tennessee.
