Dedicated Pharmacy Technician with extensive experience across multiple departments, including On-Demand, External, Narcotics, and Children's. Skilled in dispensing medications, managing inventory, and ensuring regulatory compliance with a strong focus on accuracy and safety. Adept at training new team members and handling high-risk medications, including hazardous substances. Eager to contribute leadership and expertise in the Children’s Department.
- I started my career in the On-Demand department, where I dispensed tablet and capsule medications. This role gave me a strong foundation in pharmacy work, teaching me how to carefully read and check prescriptions, package medications, calculate doses, and prepare each prescription accurately. I learned the importance of being precise and efficient in every step of the process.
- I later gained experience in the ODT, where I handled both over-the-counter (OTC) and prescription medications, including expensive treatments for chronic conditions. This role required careful attention to detail, especially when working with high-cost medications that need special handling.
-I also worked in the External department, where I dispensed a variety of medicines, including eye drops, inhalers, nasal sprays, ear drops, patches, injections, creams, powders, and liquid medications. This experience taught me how to handle different types of medications safely and follow specific guidelines for each one.
-I gained valuable experience in the Narcotics department as well, where I was trained to dispense controlled substances. In this role, I learned to be extremely careful, following strict rules and ensuring safety at all times when handling these types of medications.
-Finally, I had the opportunity to work in the Children’s department, where I managed the daily batch process during the evening shift. My responsibilities included printing labels, packing and preparing both external and tablet/capsule medications, drawing up syringes, measuring liquid doses, and handling hazardous drugs. I also took care of tasks like toting and printing shipping labels, and I managed the inventory at the end of each shift. In this department, I also trained new technicians, sharing my knowledge and ensuring they followed proper procedures. Additionally, I completed Hazardous Drug (HD) training, which equipped me with the skills to handle hazardous medications safely.
