Teachingexperience

After earning his teaching certification, Brockway entered the United States Army where he ultimately earned the rank of Captain. Along the way and after, he taught, trained, managed and led hundreds of military personnel and civilian workers. Today, Brockway’s Tactical Teaching brings that hard-won, real-world experience back into the classroom. It’s needed more than ever. We’re called on to be security guards as much as educators. We must both inspire and discipline, gain and hold the attention of students who are often distracted and detached, and teach them not only how to pass a test but—above all—how to succeed at life.

Inspiration

Rick was himself inspired by his own teachers like Mr. Robarge, who brought eight grade Social Studies to life with storytelling while simultaneously teaching with multiple modalities so the learning stuck.

Commitment

Rick is committed to leading the way to success for all students. What good is it to get an A in history but fail their future?

Commendations

Rick Brockway’s commendations include the Department of the Army Achievement Medal for meritorious achievement as the Unit Gate Technical-Ammunition Training Manager during Firebird 95. Also receive Army Commendation Medal for service as platoon leader and executive office while serving in West Germay. He distinguished himself in developing a complex training package for unit ammunition operations. His technical expertise and professional leadership reflects great credit upon him, his unit, and the United States Army Reserve.

Experiencehighlights

Richard Brockway’s experience and accomplishments as an educator and leader during the above positions have included
