Summary
I started in the electrical trade in 1984 when I was 20 years old; working construction and service in the retail, commercial and industrial fields. I've worked for many shops for a very long time now and it's made me a highly skilled electrician. I can go on about my pipe bending skills and how much I love motor control, pulling big feeders, everything underground, utility, poles standards, high paced TI work, anything industrial anything having to do with grocery stores I love. I always end up making my resume into a book. There isn't much about this trade I don't like. I consider myself an industrial Electrician first because I love the work. I'm also a supermarket electrician because I've serviced, built, Remodeled, and spent so much time at grocery stores. What's important is trust. I've seen some stupid things happen thru the years and what I bring is my word and my trust. Whoever I'm working for I give them all my respect. I'm never late I don't call in sick unless I really dying sick. I like a challenge and I like the stress this business puts us through. I enjoy working hard. I'm in good shape and I'm very strong. It makes work easy when you take care of yourself. We live at the beach so I just surf alot and ride motorcycles. I have a perfect driving and I'm insured. I had the opportunity to work for shops early on where proper training, safety, and accountability were a high priority and these ethics are still important to me. I enjoy working as a journeyman or a foreman, it doesn't matter to me on heavy commercial construction sites and industrial plants. I've had little to no time off. I've had the opportunity to stay consistent for a long time in a trade that I really enjoy and am proud to be a part of.

- I was hired thru a temp agency to work on an expansion project Tillys was involved in
- After a year they hired me direct and it went on from there
- Had a 4 man crew and ran pipe and hooked up conveyors for 3 years
- When we were let go.

- Just finished a ground up 3 story Boeing satellite research complex in El Segundo by LAX
- Easily the best project to date I have been a part of
- It was a challenge but the 30 man crew finished it on time within a year and a half schedule, 12-hour day shifts of pipe wire and equipment
- Nothing was scheduled when we finished.

- We built a new Walmart in Lakewood at an old Target building shell
- I was in charge of bringing in the new Edison and Telcom service; two vaults and three huge pull-boxes for AT & T
- Everything was 4 and 5 inch PVC
- It was great
- We did everything in the store with exposed EMT
- Eric the foreman was really sharp; pleasure working there
- When we finished there was little to no work happening unfortunately.

- We did the entire new tenant T/I work in all three buildings along with all the site work and all of the new service and utility
- I worked there till we were 100% complete

- Good place to work, good confident electricians
- I like it there but the last 4 months they had some financial problems that affected their payroll
- We were constantly not getting or knowing when our checks would be available
- Most of the time they bounced
- It was impossible for me to stay.

- A large variety of installs and problems occur at supermarkets, along with freezers and refrigeration work that takes experience and good troubleshooting skills
- They slowed down in the local work and had out of town work but I wasn't interested in traveling out of town at that time so I left.

- Dispatched to Vons, Whole Foods, and Fresh and Easy Supermarkets for trouble calls ranging from simple problems like plugs, switches, and lighting to more technical problems like lighting contactors and relays, refrigeration systems equipped with defrost and anti-sweat controls, replacing motors in exhaust hoods, correctly wiring Ansul systems
- The service manager had a nervous breakdown and the shop took me out of the field and had me run dispatch and phone tech support for the service people
- Then it went to payroll, billing, purchasing and hiring new Electricians for service and building new Whole Foods and remodeling Vons
- Compensating me and the crews was always an issue with everyone
- They had a $25 hr cap on your earnings that was non-negotiable and not fair
- So I left.

- We worked about 90% of the time in hospitals and medical centers/clinics
- Service calls in open hospital wards and equipment rooms to TI work in new construction and remodeled floors
- We installed all the low voltage, nurse-calling systems, along with the electrical and emergency backup systems
- Everything in pipe.

- Their foreman quit in the middle of a big job and left a nightmare of loose ends and problems
- I worked at GNE a long time ago and the owner was getting ready to retire so we finished the job and that was it.

- Loved it but I worried about how easy it was and needed to get back to electrical construction fundamentals that was calling me out inside.

Education
Salary
As far as my salary, what I am looking for is $30/hr, full time, to start. If I want a wage increase I will earn it first opon review. I am available for overtime, weekends, on-call and day or night shifts. Alone or on a crew, anytime I'm on the clock, I give 100%.
