MNDOC service award

This MNDOC award consisted of an incident involving a offender that attempting to commit suicide. I myself a part of the security team had responded to the call in a living unit for an offender attempting to commit suicide.  This is a very big unit with a four tear system making it tall in heights.  The offender was poised on the opposite side of the railing. After lengthily negotiations along with other staff we were successful in assisting the offender off the outer rail and getting him the help he needed. Not all suicide attempts are successful but  the ones that are make doing what we do seem a little more worth while.
