  • Completed a wide variety of projects within many different facets of construction, excavation and mechanical work. These facets included... Construction-framing, drywall, setting trusses, window and door installs, metal and wood siding, custom woodworking and finish carpentry, setting tile, flooring, welding and metal fabrication, irrigation installation, landscape and sod, concrete forming and finishing, cinder block construction, logging, thinning, clearing, sandblasting, deconstruction/demolition, etc. Excavation- Digging and hauling for roads, building pads, structural foundations, utility trenches, culvert/cattle guard installations, gravel pit operations, reclamation, etc. I have operated various excavators, skid steers, front loaders, bulldozer, dump truck and haul trucks. Mechanical- Maintenance and minor repairs on trailers, heavy equipment/gravel pit machinery, etc. Some include... Skid steer, dump truck, excavators, front loader, rock crusher and screen plant.

  • Completed 24-year career as a Law Enforcement Officer. During this career I was assigned to several different assignments. Such as... Uniformed Patrol, Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT), Training Bureau and Critical Incident Review Unit.
  • Patrol- Completed 7 years of patrol duty. This assignments generally consists of proactive patrol/enforcement, crimes-in-progress, critical incident response, traffic accident investigations, community relations, etc. During this assignment I had the additional tasks of Field Training Officer, Firearms Instructor, Grievance Committee Member, Officer-in-Charge and SWAT Alternate.
  • SWAT- Completed 15 years as a SWAT Operator (2 years as an alternate, and 13 years as full-time). I served in many different positions on the team. Such as... Containment, Entry, Breacher, Sniper, Robotics and Assistant Team Leader. During this assignment I was involved in over one thousand high-risk operations, to include search warrants, serious criminal apprehensions, armed barricaded subjects, hostage rescue operations, drug and firearm buy/bust operations and significant dignitary protection details. While on SWAT I cross-trained as a sniper, and became certified as a sniper instructor/trainer for ten years. I was also assigned as the Assistant Team Leader. This was a leadership role in which I was responsible for all team coordination, responses, tactical planning/decision making, tactic implementation, coordination of other departmental units, organizing outside agency resources, and low-level personnel issues. I was a primary instructor for team movement/tactics, building clearing, hostage rescue techniques, search warrant techniques, vehicle and tubular assaults, open-air movements, terrorist response, active shooter response, tactical firearms, surveillance/reconnaissance operations, etc.
  • Training Bureau- While assigned to training I was responsible for teaching a wide variety of mandatory department in-service training (recertifications). This included firearms, emergency vehicle operations, active shooter response, use-of-force, vehicle pursuits, etc. I was also assigned as a Field Training Coordinator. This consisted of training Field Training Officers, reviewing all reports on trainees and monitoring progress though the program, certifying completion of the program, or recommending and implementing termination from employment.
  • Critical Incident Review Unit (CIRU)- While on CIRU I was responsible for responding to all critical incidents involving the Police, Fire, Dispatch and Corrections Departments. I assisted in conducting very thorough investigations, which ensured that actions and procedures were consistent with departmental policies and best practices, completed a detailed account of the use-of-force utilized, assessed unit response times and effectiveness, etc. This resulted in presentations/recommendations to Command Staff regarding policy/procedure, operational and training concerns. The investigatory processes relied heavily on utilizing a combination of technologies/programs and resources not typical to other units. (During the last 1.5 years I investigated 13 officer involved shootings in the above fashion)

  • Began with basic home-owner (how-to) wiring books during high school years. This was the foundation for many personal projects and some paid (side-job) projects from that point to present.
  • Assisted in wiring a 12 unit motel.
  • Replaced many outlets and switches. Includes expanding circuits and adding switched fixtures.
  • Circuit re-routes, expansions, disconnects due to structural changes and needs during renovations.
  • Created, routed and completed additional circuits for add-ons/re-purposed spaces.
  • Replacement and additions of circuit breakers.
  • Pre-wired and newly-wired ceiling fan installations (approximately 50).
  • Remove and replacement of existing fixtures, such as vanity, accent lighting, outdoor lighting, smoke detectors, etc.
  • Multiple circuit installment for residential addition, to include 240 baseboard heater, thermostats, GFCI Circuits, three-way and four-way lighting scenarios.
  • Installation of in-wall heaters and bath fans.
  • Installation of 240 circuit for spa (spa-box).
  • Low-voltage systems for irrigation control outdoor accent lighting thermostats garage door openers/sensors.
  • Repair, addition or re-wire of automotive towing packages, automotive systems, lights and aftermarket accessories.
  • Repair, addition or re-wire of travel trailer circuits, and installation of aftermarket accessories.
  • Ran additional wiring, such as telephone, coaxial, USB and Cat-6 for multitude of projects.
