Clinical rotations objectives
Provide care, in the private practice sector, to a wide range of populations, including individuals of different ages, cultural backgrounds, and socioeconomic statuses. Conduct thorough assessments of patient needs and concerns through patient-centered treatment, utilizing a full range of the audiological testing battery to ensure accurate diagnoses and effective care. Additionally, apply clinical problem-solving skills to address the unique cases and medical needs of each patient.
Volunteer History
Healthy Hearing Special Olympics 11/2/2024: Volunteered to conduct hearing screenings for individuals with special needs. Actively engaged with athletes, showing empathy and interest on each unique story and perspective. Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills providing support and comfortable environment for individuals to share their experiences.
Youth Group form the Diocese of Ponce (2019-2022): Shared experiences and conversations with young individuals who shared the same faith. Participated in charity activities with the goal of providing food and clothes to those in need in the local community.
Research experience
Determining the Presence of Cryptococcus gatti in Different Reserves of Southwest Puerto Rico: Collected soil samples at important frequently visited beaches in Southwest Puerto Rico, with the goal of finding the presence of the fungal pathogen Cryptococcus gatti. Sampled Cryptococcus gatti cultures for research and analysis, with direct supervision experienced researchers. Presented scientific poster which included quantitative data and qualitative data about the fungi'smolecular and reproductive characteristics at a school symposium.
Accounting for Bivalves and Gastropods, Considering Predation Marks: Collected mollusk samples of economic importance at different beaches in South Puerto Rico. Analyzed the richness of species that belong to the Gastropod and Bivalve class, considering predation marks from other marine species. Utilized statistical tests results such as Pearson Correlation Coefficient (r) and Shannon Diversity Index to determine the richness of species of mollusk. Demonstrated team-collaborative skills while working alongside a colleague and a experienced professor to present the findings of the research.
