Work History

Operations Manager

VisionPro Cleaning Services
11.2002 - Current

While to many this may be "just a cleaning service;" my family's goal has always been to show Jesus no matter how it is viewed. We have the opportunity to serve our clients with a true servant's heart, and not just as another 9-5 job. I have worked with my family to build our company since its inception, which has instilled in me a work ethic that is, frankly, quite uncommon in society today. For the past five years I have been the operations manager which has taught me the inner workings to running businesses. This job has allowed me the flexibility to work in ministry for almost a decade.

Select/Travel Baseball Coach & Instructor

Destiny Sports Missions
01.2023 - Current
  • Improved team performance by developing comprehensive practice plans and focusing on individual player development.
  • Assisted athletes in setting personal goals and provided guidance on how to achieve them through tailored training sessions.

While not a ministry position "per se;" my time with Destiny Sports has allowed me the ability to participate in the game I love while helping the next generation not only better themselves on the field; but off, as well. The mindset for Destiny Sports is to teach them America's past-time along with ways to show Jesus in everything we do.

Youth & Young Adult Pastor/Media Director

Heart Of Worship Baptist Church
01.2017 - 06.2018
  • Collaborated with church leadership to develop strategic plans for ministry growth and expansion.
  • Mentored youth group members, offering guidance and support in their personal and spiritual lives.
  • Planned and conducted worship services, wrote sermons, and worked with key church leaders to carry out church mission.
  • Led programs such as worship, study, fellowship, and service opportunities.

Although initially hired to focus on the youth ministry and media direction; my role was quickly expanded to include coordination of adult services, leading praise and worship, and sermons for our adult congregation. The youth and young adults were my primary focus. It started with the continuation of Sunday morning Bible study and mid-week meetings. Due to the ever-growing activities that teens have during the week; we launched a Saturday evening "Teen Night" for our youth and young adults, which consisted of topics pertinent to their lives. Afterwards, we would then commence on whatever the planned activity was for that week. Teen Night was the driving force behind the growth we saw. Heart of Worship was a primarily older aged congregation, so having a time for the students to just be themselves was the jolt needed for expansion of the young adult ministry.

Audio Engineer/Youth & Children's Ministry Aide

Live Oak Community Church
12.2011 - 11.2016

I began my time at LOCC with their media department. My responsibilities ranged from audio mixing for various service styles to weekly service filming to graphic design for whatever ministries had need. I soon began to work closely with the newly hired youth pastor to help facilitate weekly services, youth outings, etc. My role then expanded to directing and teaching media to interested teens for our children's ministry. When our college ministry was launched, i assisted our pastor in preparation and implementation of services and small groups.

Student Director/Student Pastor

Church On The Rock
07.2009 - 05.2011

In July of 2009, COTR hired me to begin a "Gap Year Program" for exiting high school students seeking to find some direction for their future. While the attempt and drive was there; this program being located so close to an area consisting of 3-4 colleges proved inopportune. My responsibilities were to disciple and instruct our young adult students in ways to better their relationship with Christ, while preparing them for whatever the next phase of life might be. While this endeavor was not pursued further; my role was shifted to focus on the student ministries for the inaugural year of the Lubbock Dream Center. I was responsible for Sunday Services for the elementary and teenage students, and the weekly afterschool outreach to the neighborhood kids.

About Me:

I am a 36 year old husband and father. My wife and I have been married for just over five years, and we have a 3 year old and 8 month old. I work for VisionPro Cleaning Services and she teaches at Texas tech University in the Meat & Animal Sciences department. Our jobs give us the chance to always have a parent home with our kids. We love that we do not have to place them in daycare, but instead get see them grow every day. We both have a heart for young people. Her area of influence happens to be with students a bit older than has been my focus, is all. We both happen to be adult "kids" though which we see as a huge asset. Whether its going to a movie, arcade, baseball/softball game; we are able to always have a good time, which is imperative when dealing with younger age groups.

My Heart:

While I may not have been working in traditional ministry for the past few years; my desire to leave a lasting impact on others has not diminished. My heart truly is to see the next generation living a Christ-centered life and not one centered around all the worldly distractions. We are to be in the world but not of it...which is a hard thing to do, especially for young and impressionable minds. My philosophy for ministry can be summed up into one word: CHASE. Kids, teens, young adults do not care what you know until they know how much you care. Ministry is not done just on Sundays...it requires efforts daily. That means we have to "get down on their level." Care about the things they care about. Only then can we expect to be able to make a lasting impact. I believe I possess the necessary qualities to impart this to other leaders, as well. In my opinion, too many people think they can know how to help others by simply hearing a short, two-dimensional summary of someone's life. Too often there is so much withheld beneath the surface that you have to chase after the truth before you can truly make a difference.
