  • Presently I teach Urban Search and Rescue Teams Logistics for deploying to incidents in their states or part of an agreement with FEMA
  • I also teach through EMI All Risk courses such as Logistics Section Chief, Facilities Unit leader and Supply unit leader

  • I hold a position of Vice President of Training and Curriculum with BERT (Business Emergency Response Training) and a part owner of CEMI
  • Worked on a 3 man team to re-write the FEMA Logistics Specialist Course
  • Have also taught many BERT (Building Emergency Response Teams) courses
  • Assisted with the re-write of the BERT course and the online course and train-the-trainer classes
  • Worked with many business’s to improve their preparedness for catastrophic events and protect their employees
  • Have been a coach for several Command and General Staff ICS 420 and ICS 520 Complex Incident Management courses, and on the Orange County Covid task force
  • I serve on a United States Forest Service, Type 2 Incident management team, as a Logistics Section Chief that oversees and coordinates large forest fires such as the Wallow fire in Arizona which was over 500,000 acres.

  • My first deployment was to the Oklahoma City bombing where I started as a logistics specialist
  • Since that time I have had several assignments in Urban Search and Rescue
  • On the Task Force my last assignment was Logistics Manager (FEMA Logistics Section Chief) and stay home Logistics Manager for two hurricane deployments
  • I have been on the Red IST and an alternate with the position of Point of Arrival/Mobilization specialist and an alternate Logistics Section Chief
  • Some of my assignments were Hurricane’s Francis, Charlie, Ivan, Dolly, Presidential Inauguration of President Obama, to name a few
  • I was also deployed to the Haiti earthquake to the mobility center in Miami
  • Have also coordinated several large exercises and have also been and evaluator on state and federal exercises
  • Other incident as a Logistics Section Chief are; Ojai Fire 2015, Powerhouse fire 2014, Colorado Floods 2013
  • Also have deployed on several fires as a Supply Unit Leader and Facilities Unit Leader.

  • Part of my duties were scheduling training classes and travel arrangements for the logistical and rescue sections of California Task Force 5
  • Maintained tracking of expenditures for 4 budgets totaling over 4.2 million dollars annually, as well as processing purchase requests for most of the expenditures (selecting equipment and vendors)
  • Was the lead for writing specifications for US&R vehicle purchases, outfitting of emergency vehicle lighting and auxiliary power for US&R vehicles
  • For twelve years I served as a member of the State of California, Office of Emergency Services, Logistics Committee, providing input and decision-making for the direction of the eight California Task Forces
  • I assisted in the fabrication and design of the Urban Search and Rescue (US&R) trailers and the rebuild project for the tractors from military surplus units
  • Deployed to Oklahoma Bombing, Hurricane Katrina and Rita as part of CATF-5 US&R team as a Logistics Manager, responsible for purchasing, managing, and logistical support of an 82-person team in a multi-jurisdictional command structure.
