I have been a volunteer firefighter since the age of 14 which has taught me throughout the years to work hard and train harder. There’s never a day that you cannot learn something new to help you in your work, personal life , and many other ways. A day wasted of not paying attention and learning from others is a day that you have fallen behind. Throughout the years of being in the volunteer department I have worked myself up from a jr firefighter to now being the first captain. I have different responsibilities as the first captain which includes getting training together for the other members of the department as well as maintaining a safe and in order fire grounds. Also I am the Vice President of the fire department and hold the VP seat in the board of directors which allows me to voice the opinions and wants/needs of the younger generation and firefighters on the department.
