Served as a Airattack Group Supervisor for aviation fire suppression resources. Working for the State of Arizona Aviation Manager, I managed air space and fire air traffic over emergency fire incidents. Worked with ground personnel on determining use of fire aircraft. Coordinates, assigns, and evaluates the use of these resources in support of the incident objectives. Provides a safe operational environment for incident aircraft, establish chain of command for communication, risk management, radio frequencies, and operational strategy. Develop and present training to cooperators and agency personnel about proper use and deployment of aircraft. Complete payment documents and daily statistics information as per contract agreement. Ensures ATGS air craft meet NWCG Standards. Conduct debriefing with supervisor, pilots and any associated personnel regarding necessary actions, documenting issues, and determining any corrective actions needed. Worked as an ATGS on numerous initial attack, extended attack and Type 1,2,3 fires. Provide for the safety of aviations operations and meet requirements in the NWCG Standards for aerial supervision. Provide the safety and welfare of assigned aircraft on the incident and meets NWCG, AZ- DFFM Standards. Provides documentation for ATGS Aircraft contracts. Create safety first programs and work with both the agency and interagency levels. All duties are the same as the 2024 positions that I occupied as ATGS. I was employed through the Tonto National Forest, but was assigned to work as the Air Attack Supervisor for the Arizona Department of Forestry. I worked out of Falcon Field Mesa Az. as the ATGS for the State of Arizona contract aircraft. I reported to the State Aviation Officer, and coordinated incident airspace, air traffic, and ground coordination for safe and effective fire aviation use and management.
