- As a fire controlman I had the privilege of extremely varied experience doing everything from plumbing to managing a $400 million weapons control and management system with a multi-million dollar yearly budget in extremely high stakes situations with potential internationally profound consequences while stationed aboard ships. My final posting was a director level position heading up a department overseeing facilities maintenance for 1 million sqft of mixed use interior spaces and 40 acres of grounds, supply accounting and secure storage, physical security, a machine and fabrication shop, hazardous material management and outside contractor oversight. During this time I also certified and spent a fair amount of time as a trainer both for electrical theory and the development of future leaders plus leading the daily operations of 6 low to mid level managers and up to 400 entry level subordinates with an annual budget of approximately $60M USD.
