I've been an avid outdoorsman my entire life. I spent a decade of summers in Port McNeill, British Columbia. I am comfortable and familiar with the climate, the geography, the flora, and the fauna of the archipelago that stretches from Southeast Alaska to the West British Columbia Coast. I grew up fishing offshore of British Columbia, Washington, and Oregon in small sport boats. I've responded to offshore and backcountry emergencies. I spent 5 weeks alone in the interior Alaskan bush moose hunting. Archery and rifle hunting the Greater Yellowstone and Bitterroot ecosystems for elk, deer, and black bear is how I spend all my personal time. I notched my first big game tag at age 12. The number of big game tags I've filled is around fifty and counting. I'm a marksman on multiple weapons platforms, with USPSA competition experience. My first shotgun was a remington 870 in 12 gage.
I regard physical fitness as a fundamental priority to my lifestyle. I am single with no children. I am sober. I believe I have the necessary decades of experience and natural aptitude that will set me up for success to becoming a valuable bear guard. Wilderness conditions and brown bear country are where I thrive.
