Accomplishments

  • I birthed two sets of twins that were 19 months apart. I continued to work. I still went to all their events, worked the food huts and participated in and was the Team Mom.
  • Leader of my TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) Club for three years and produced and published a newsletter for our group. I also devised and held our meetings along with my co-leader.
  • I worked my way up from claims processor to Provider Relations and Educational Outreach Representative for the State Of Massachusetts for Medicare B.
  • While a beneficiary Customer Service Representative, I identified an issue with Medicare Secondary Payment processing issue. Claims were not processing correctly. I created a questionnaire for each issue: accident, VA, workers comp and work insurance. This enabled us to get the information, update our system and reprocess the claims correctly or finalize any claims in suspense.
  • Helped the extended shift as a back up team leader. Provided training for all the new hires. I worked my job from 7 to 4 and worked with second shift review from 4 - 10 for a year.
  • Cross-trained on review, suspense, customer service, claims, and general correspondence.
  • Active member of Diversity and ESI groups. Community Service
    Representative for five years.
  • Participated in Large Scale Overpayment Group, Psyche Group and
many others over the years. I have taken several courses on presentations, business writing, speaking, etc..
  • I was part of Massachusetts Department of Health Pandemic committee.
  • I educated many of the Department of Heath offices in Massachusetts on the billing of the flu shot.
  • In 1981, I walked 26 miles three weeks after having my first set of twins. It was a fundraiser put on by Nike for MS. I collected the most money and I finished third over all and the first woman.

NOTE: I have several examples of letters from providers and beneficiaries thanking me for going above and beyond to assist them. I can provide them upon request.
