  • Responsible for organizing and managing outside plant and network engineering projects. Evaluate plant to determine needs of service for client. This includes both copper and fiber facilities, aerial and underground structures.
  • Typical projects include Downsizing, relocations, plant damages & thefts, commercial developments, Joint Pole, Copper Reclamation, Held orders, hicaps, FTTP, and FTTN.
  • Design and create Aramis drawings for new design of facilities, updating and maintaining existing facility documentation in all related systems.
  • Redline records to initiate fielding of pole line and substructures for creation of scaled substructure and pole line path for new cable installations for submission to various city and county jurisdictions for permit approvals.

  • Design and prepare outside plant copper and fiber projects to support and grow the existing network.
  • Perform loop studies and implement projects identified. Manage multiple projects to meet customer and company requirements.
  • Submit encroachment applications to State, County & City as required.
  • Review customer plans. Provide markups & specifications to customers.
  • Route responsibilities in local district, and Hicap/T1 provisioning in the Napa, Solano, Yolo, Ukiah, and Eureka areas. Design jobs as needed to maintain wire center requirements and also condition facilities to support the Hicap/T1 spans.
  • Trained engineers & engineer assistants on the transmission principles and design, utilizing DILEP. Established current T1 group practices to allow for efficient and timely processing of all T1 orders and jobs.
  • Coordinate and direct contract engineered projects.
  • Actively participate in construction workload management.
  • Jam Spoc responsibility during 2007 to 2012, for JAM conversion in the District. Provided training and support for approximately 25 engineers and construction managers. Continue to provide JAM support and training as necessary to engineers, construction managers, and to other specs as requested.
  • Work with our customers and intercompany support groups, i.e. tariff, joint pole, marketing, to resolve road blocks and conflicts.
  • Perform on call duty supervisor responsibilities for outside placing, splicing, and repair crews for afterhours plant damage and emergency call outs.
  • Participated in local school Career Fairs as a Pacific Bell representative.
  • BICSI certification.
  • Managed 1 Engineer Assistant & 1 contract Engineer.

  • Daily coordination with the District maintenance center. Contributed to weekly Telsam customer satisfaction review, active in customer problem resolutions. Our crew received special recognition for most consistent and long term customer satisfaction this year.
  • Held building and floor warden responsibilities. Responsible for storage and shipment of hazardous materials at this site. Responsible for inventory of supplies, hazardous materials, and capital equipment. Perform on call duty supervisor responsibilities for outside placing, splicing, and repair crews.

  • Successfully completed large Centrex cutovers in Napa and Sonoma, including Queen of the Valley Hospital. Supported the cutover for Napa City/County government.
  • Was 1 of a few technicians qualified to install special voice circuits, including turn up coordination with testing centers.
  • Was senior technician for 5 years. Did crew time sheet audits and time approvals.
