  • Resiliency Program, The Resiliency Program at Winter Park Resort is an emerging initiative dedicated to promoting mental health and wellness among ski area workers and first responders. Developed in partnership with Winter Park Ski Patrol and modeled after the Responders Alliance, the program is designed to address the unique mental health challenges of working in a high-risk, high-stress mountain environment., Key Project Components: Post-Incident Check-Ins, Peer Support Network, Access to Mental Health Services, Education & Research, and Program Architecture & Strategy., Post-Incident Support: Creating structured check-in protocols for ski patrollers following critical incidents such as severe accidents or fatalities., Peer Support Networks: Establishing peer support groups to foster connection, normalize conversations about mental health, and provide immediate resources after difficult calls., Access to Services: Ensuring patrollers and resort staff have access to specialized mental health services throughout the season., Education & Research: Attending national conferences and integrating the latest research on burnout prevention and first responder mental health into program design., Program Development: Currently in the early stages, with ongoing collaboration between Ski Patrol leadership and the Risk & Safety team to build a sustainable, long-term resiliency framework., The Resiliency Program Winter Park, CO represents an important step toward reducing burnout, improving well-being, and fostering a supportive culture for those working on the frontlines of mountain safety and emergency response.
