Performed patient care and labor support for laboring patients from admission to delivery including managing pregnancy complications such as maternal hypertension/pre-ecclampsia and gestational diabetes; starting IV’s, helping support during epidural and spinal procedures. Caring for mother and newborn during c-sections and post-op recovery, circulating c-sections. Caring for mother and newborn in postpartum period from admission to discharge. Conducted thorough patient assessments to identify changes in condition, promptly notifying physicians and initiating appropriate interventions when necessary. Assisted in the training and mentorship of new nursing staff members/charge nurses, contributing to a positive work environment and high-quality patient care.

This was a shared position with St. John’s maternity care, which I began after completing labor orientation at St.Johns; where I had the same job duties at St. John’s maternity in caring for and supporting laboring mothers from admission to delivery, caring for newborns from birth to discharge in post delivery and postpartum care.

Stopped this position when St. Joes closed their maternity unit

Medical surgical nursing float pool where I floated to multiple medical surgical floors, admission care team, postpartum. Performed nursing assessments, patient care, including administering meds, breathing treatments, treatments, picc line care, patient admissions. Provided patient education on treatments and plan of care from admission to discharge. Collaborated with interdisciplinary teams to create personalized care plans for patients.
