I am starting my second year at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. I plan on majoring in electrical engineering and have already completed Honors Physics I and II, Calculus I and II and Multivariable, and Intro to Computing Systems. I am looking for a technical internship over the summer of 2025 that will further develop my skills and depth of knowledge in electrical engineering.
Over the Spring and Summer of 2023 and 2024, I worked as a Lifeguard and Water Safety Instructor (WSI) at the Monticello Community Center. I monitored every swimmer at our pools while enforcing rules to give every visitor a safe, welcoming, and pleasant experience. As a swim instructor, I taught every level of Red Cross' Learn-to-Swim program from preschool-level 5. I adapted each lesson plan to best accommodate our class's needs and curriculum, and I recorded how each swimmer was doing. At the end of each lesson block, I gave feedback on what expectations they exceeded, and what they needed to improve at.
I graduated valedictorian from Monticello High School, while I participated in multiple extra-curricular activities. I played trumpet in our school's wind ensemble (top band), I've played soccer and lettered in cross country, and I am a 5 - time varsity swimmer and 3 - time varsity track and field athlete. I have received the Academic All-Conference 7 times, and I am a 3 - time All-Conference Swimming athlete. I am a member of the Minnesota Honor Society and I received the Student of Excellence award, given to only 4 students in my graduating class; I have demonstrated exceptional qualities in scholarship, service, leadership, and character.
