During this summer I worked alongside Mr. Shon Holsey along with his wife Mrs. Chiquita Holsey for a period of 8 weeks. While working up under these two, I learned how to properly grow and harvest crops. After the crops were harvested, each Saturday I went to the local and surrounding counties farmer's market and sold the products we have been growing for a profit. I was also given the opportunity to help the farmer install a central water line system in the crop field.
Agriculture Futures of America (AFA) Leadership Conference
Fall 2022: Kansas City, Missouri
Experience in leadership roles while networking with other students and CEO’s of major companies related to the agriculture industry. During this conference I attended different workshops related to leadership, service, and the agriculture industry. I also was given the opportunity to sit down and talk with major companies such as Corteva, Cargrill, and CHS Foundation. During my time in Kansas City, Missouri for the AFA Leadership Conference I was impressed with how the organization was run and that encouraged me to apply for the ambassador role for my university.
