During the summer before Sophomore year, I decided to do an internship with the M-DCPS Procurement Department. They gave me valuable financial knowledge. I had the opportunity to shadow and observe the procurement department at work. The division is in charge of handling all financial matters and budget management for Miami Dade County Public Schools. I was able to pick up some incredible technological skills, like how to use Excel, and I also learned how to be a very collaborative and effective communicator because the procurement department functions as a team. I do intend to apply these talents to my future employment.
