I am a former player and graduate from Clinch Valley College. My time here as a student-athlete was a joyous time in my life. I loved the travel, the meals, practices, matches and all the comradery that accompanied my 4 years as a player here. I also share those same sentiments from a coaching perspective after having guided the men's team here at UVA-WISE for these past 6 seasons. I have over 30 years of experience coaching both men and women in multiple sports. I have also officiated both men's and women's basketball for the past 12 seasons. I still feel that I have the energy, zeal, and enthusiasm needed to lead a college tennis program. I vastly improved the men's program and plan to continue that trend with the women as well. I have lived in this area all of my life and would love to continue to have a significant role in the development of the college tennis program here in Wise.
I have traveled extensively throughout the United States. Being a high school history teacher has afforded me the opportunity to travel in the summers and take in the beautiful scenery that America has to offer. I have been to 48 of the 50 states in the US. Have hiked to over 20 state high points and plan to do many more. I have participated in sports my whole life and still enjoy many athletic related activities to help relieve stress and enhance physical fitness. I am a member of East Stone Gap Methodist Church near Big Stone Gap, VA. Also, assisted in and attended FCA events associated with UVA-WISE.
